I’m an author of suspense novels and short stories. I grew up fascinated by the original black and white Twilight Zone TV series. Today, some of my favorite fiction authors include Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Anthony Doerr, James Patterson, Craig Johnson, and Flannery O’Connor. I’m also partial to the classic thriller, “Engineering Thermodynamics” by Perkins and Reynolds, but that’s a story of a different color.
I’m a member of Pikes Peak Writers and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers. I’m an affiliate member of Fiction Writers of America–through the Rocky Mountain Chapter. I also belong to an awesome critique group in Colorado Springs. On a completely different note, I’m an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
I was born and raised in Idaho and now live in Colorado Springs with my wife, Marilyn, our dog Jasper, and our cat Gauss. We have three daughters and a son, all grown.
When I’m not writing fiction, I’m an adjunct professor of Space Systems Engineering for the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. I’m a retired Air Force officer and taught Astronautics (spaceflight engineering) at the US Air Force Academy for 10 years. Yes, that stuff is literally cosmic!
If you can’t find me at my computer writing, I’m likely in my workshop building Nordic-class competition model gliders–or out at the flying field outside Aurora, CO. Yeah, this photo is from a few years ago…but that glider and I are still flying.
